F3B WC 2011 update #2

Another 4 hours net session. When Yiwen got my 1328 points To-Do List, for long 10 minutes no response from Beijing. No wonder, I would be also perplexed.

  • Lei Wang (COC and Chinese FAI delegate) is leaving this weekend to Laiwu, we should have detailed information next week.
  • GPS coordinates of airfield are not yet 100% precise. When looking at Google Earth I see hilly area. Sure, I point out to OC that F3F WC is next year at German Arkona (again?!). We are going to fly F3B, aren’t we?
  • Jinan is the closest big civil airport to Laiwu (aprox. 80km)
  • All teams in one hotel resort. Jesus, every evening F3B siesta. This was my dream since F3B WC 2003 in Kirchheim (Passi Vaisanen and Peter Hubbylainen, they remember what I’m talking about)
  • Just checking how it’s with renting car service, but Yiwen offered bus for every team.
  • Every lunch time, all people to hotel by buses and after 1 hour sweet sleep-break going back. Sure, rejected.
  • 30 experienced Chinese pilots as helpers. I was promised to have contacts to top-Chinese pilots. End of German F3B dominance (?!)
  • Specifying winch batteries for renting. I want really high quality ones, no China! (oooch bad joke, from where is your IBM ThinkPad? Sure from China.)
  • Airfield detailed specification. There is tough experience from F3B WC 2009 in Ivancice.
  • Asking for scoring/display system. Ralf Decker Circus and other alternatives are in the game.
  • Asking for 35MHz band allowance. Let’s see.
  • Thinking about one common shipment of mono (nylon launch line), if there is sufficient demand.
  • Maybe in June/July I should visit whole area for detailed tune-up (if I’m not still in resignation, bad joke?)
  • …for now it’s enough
  • ehhh forgotten; two days “no mercy” pre-race
