No Wind II

I could just carbon copy my report from Kulmbach 2012 (incl. F3B FAI rules minutes). No wind and deadly hot. There was anyhow one pleasant change. US and Australian F3B teams came for F3B Worlds early enough to become acclimatized for European conditions. I was pleased to meet all that nice guys after nearly two years (WC in China)

We started Saturday morning with distances. Smart decision to help Officials at bases to survive more than 35°C in shadow afternoon.

With Jan Kohout we joined Holland F3B team. It was very helpful to share all necessary logistics in that boring weather. Thank you Erik, Wout, Rogier and Joris!

Seems to me for the first time I experienced micro V-tail push-rods prolongation in these tropic temperatures. Although wings and tail were placed in alu covers, fuselage (red color) not. Given my launch setup is quite on the edge I experienced sudden stalls on launch. At first stage it was big surprise for me and I was not sure what’s wrong (thermal?) suddenly with setup. Good experience.

Andreas Kunz, Helmut Bauer and all helpers made maximum to successfully finish this contest in so challenging conditions. It was also likeable they provided space to promote this year new F3B contest in Mlada Boleslav (Czech Rep.) and next year F3B Gator (USA). Thanks.
